Protect your OTP
- Never share your OTP with anyone.
- When giving OTP for verification, always read the OTP message again to check the sender and the purpose of OTP.
- Do not give applications permission to read message whereever not required. A malicious app may read OTP and send it to a fraudster.
Do not install unverified applications
- Never install apps on your mobile from APK file downloaded from internet. It may be a malicious software (malware) which can read your data and initiate bank account tranfers from your account.
- If you find any unknown apps on your mobile, immediately uninstall them.
- Always use Google Play Store or Apple App Store to install mobile applications.
- Do not install applications which are not verified.
Double check UPI transactions
- Before confirming a UPI transaction always double check the beneficiairy name and amount.
- Before making payment to any unknown person, always be skeptical that it may be a fraud. Check different types of frauds on this page to identify if a fraudster is trying to commit fraud.
- You do not need to enter MPIN to receive payment via UPI.
Beware of OLX scam
- When purchasing second hand items online, always verify items offline by meeting the person.
- Do not make payment without receiving your item.

- If you doubt that you someone is trying to commit cyber fraud on you, call 1930 or visit you nearest Police Station to verify.
