Protect your OTP

Never share your OTP with anyone.
When giving OTP for verification, always read the OTP message again to check the sender and the purpose of OTP.
Do not give applications permission to read message whereever not required. A malicious app may read OTP and send it to a fraudster.

Do not install unverified applications

Never install apps on your mobile from APK file downloaded from internet. It may be a malicious software (malware) which can read your data and initiate bank account tranfers from your account.
If you find any unknown apps on your mobile, immediately uninstall them.
Always use Google Play Store or Apple App Store to install mobile applications.
Do not install applications which are not verified.

Double check UPI transactions

Before confirming a UPI transaction always double check the beneficiairy name and amount.
Before making payment to any unknown person, always be skeptical that it may be a fraud. Check different types of frauds on this page to identify if a fraudster is trying to commit fraud.
You do not need to enter MPIN to receive payment via UPI.

Beware of OLX scam

When purchasing second hand items online, always verify items offline by meeting the person.
Do not make payment without receiving your item.

Dial 1930 or visit your nearest Police Station if you have any doubt

If you doubt that you someone is trying to commit cyber fraud on you, call 1930 or visit you nearest Police Station to verify.
